The best part of my trip was on tuesday when we met with Stella Johnson. She started the conversation right off with photo journalism and how corrupt certian newspapers are. It opened my eyes, and I realized that what I read about or what I see on the news may not be the real story or even all of it, and that newspapers regulate the pictures published. Often times they would not publish an image because it may offend people, resulting in a national ignorence of world affairs.
I was able to connect my essential question to the disscusion with Dr. Thompson. She got into the way women are portrayed in video games leading to the question: Are women in vidoe games more provocative to entice men to play and buy the games; or are they this way because more men play and buy videogames. Either way it's all about body image.

I liked Nicoya's question about how body images are corrupted with todays media. Nicoya and I walked around copley square mall one day and asked people their perceptions of what real beauty is and even though it was a totally different question than mine it was good to know that people thought about more than looks and what is in today's media. This corresponded with my question because i asked if influenced by politics i.e-media... so it gave me an idea about how "art" in a way of beauty was percieved by different people.
