After waking up at the ridiculous hour of four in the morning, we took a ridiculously long bus ride into Boston, MA. We learned patience while everyone in the group decided what they wanted for breakfast, and because everyone wanted food from different places we brought the food back to the hostel and ate it.
For our first excursion we took the T to Copley Place. On our way there we took a scenic route, ran into some pigeons, and Smitty (Alex) got up close and personal with an escalator. Once in the mall our group split up and we interviewed/surveyed employees and shoppers on topics related to our essential questions.
At the Copley Place, our interviews went well. Rachel and Nicoya were very productive in asking numerous people, especially employees, and getting detailed answers to their questions. Smitty, Eric, and Collin spent most of their time at the EB Games store talking to employees and different customers. They found that older gamers were not just interested in games with mature subject matter, but were rather interested in any game that boasted entertainment value. Annie and Jon asked shoppers about whether they would rather read an article or look at a picture to become informed about a certain subject. We were very productive in our research.
