Today we developed our "essential questions", and brainstormed ideas for ways to find answers to our questions. Peter and I are very involved in mapping out our Boston adventure.
The following are drafts of our group's questions.
Rachel: "How do Boston artists portray themselves (culture, socio-economic standing, making a living, religion, freedom) through their art?"
Alex: "How does, if at all, media pervert people's image of reality?
Nicoya: "How does media influence society's perception of the human body and what "real" beauty is?"
John: "I will photograph/document the difference in dynamics between urban and rural life"
Eric: "How does violence in the real world affect the content in video games?"
Annie: “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Is this true? If so, why?
Sub-questions: "What tells an important news story better, images or words?"
"How has photojournalism made a difference in our understanding of global acts of terrorism/war?"
Grace: "In the world a lot of little negative things add up to make big negative things. I will document through photography how little things can also add up to make a big positive difference. I would like to look at public spaces in Boston, in a variety of economic areas, to discover that there are are a lot of things that make a positive difference."
Collin: "I want to learn how violent games really affect both teens and children."
